Yemi Valdes was born in Matanzas, Cuba, where she also obtained her education as a popular music singer. However, music also came to her through family tradition, as she is the daughter of the renowned Cuban singer and guitarist Clemente Valdes.
Today, she has become one of the emblematic Latin female voices in Scandinavia, where she has lived for over a decade. As she brings her rich musical heritage to new audiences.
Earlier in her career, she collaborated with various musical formats and groups, including salsa legend Tito Nieves and the prestigious jazz band Mestizaje. Nowadays, as a soloist and band leader, Yemi Valdes embarks on a musical journey, constantly pushing the boundaries of her versatile artistry.
